Understanding rental offers

Find out who receives them, what they are and how they work.

Updated over a week ago

Sinistar receives quote requests from insurers and policyholders looking for temporary accommodation. We analyze their needs and then send a rental offer to a number of hosts.

Who receives the offers

We send rental offers to hosts whose accommodation:

  • is approved

  • is located near the policyholder’s address

  • meets the policyholder’s criteria (number of bedrooms, capacity, etc.)

How to view your offers

Rental offers are always sent to you by email, but you can also view your active offers directly in your dashboard. To do so, go to the section called 'My rental offers.'

Host dashboard

💡 Helpful tip

'My rental offers' only displays offers that are active. That is, rental offers for which the insurer is still accepting quotes. If you see an offer you haven't responded to yet, it means there's still time to submit a quote!

Content of the offers

A rental offer includes a summary of the policyholder’s needs:

  • Relocation dates

  • Number of adults, children and infants

  • Special needs

With this information in hand, you can choose to accept or decline the offer. You can do so by using the form provided.

❗️ Important

Please note that hosts are not to contact an insurer directly about a rental offer, or for any other reason (see article 5 of our Terms and Conditions). If you have questions, please write us at [email protected].

Response time

Generally, you have 24 hours to respond to a rental offer. However, depending on the number of quotes received, the response time may be shorter or longer. If the response time is extended and you have not yet responded, you may be notified by email.

The sooner you respond, the better your chances of getting the rental.
